Although chef and author Anthony Bourdain is most commonly seen eating his way around the globe on the Travel Channel’s No Reservations, fans of the “bad boy of cuisine” can get tickets to see him live. Bourdain is currently on tour promoting his latest book, Medium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook, and fans can get Anthony Bourdain tickets to see to see him in cities like Glenside, Pa.; Coral Springs, Fla.; Palm Desert, Calif. and more through February 2011.

Anthony Bourdain’s latest food memoir, Medium Raw, arrives 10 years after his cult classic, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, and TIME Magazine reports that Bourdain doesn’t disappoint on the hotly-anticipated follow-up. Since releasing Kitchen Confidential, Bourdain has released other books (The Nasty Bits, Les Halles Cookbook and No Reservations: Around the World on an Empty Stomach, an illustrated journal of his extensive traveling), but Medium Raw is first return to the memoir since 2001.

Before he began running the kitchens at New York City’s Supper Club, One Fifth Avenue and Sullivan’s, the New York native studied at Vassar College and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. After penning a pair of crime novels-1995′s Bone in the Throat and 1997′s Gone Bamboo-Bourdain’s expose of New York restaurants “Don’t Eat Before Reading This” attracted major attention when it appeared in The New Yorker in 1999. The piece was the basis for Kitchen Confidential.

Bourdain has been accused of selling out-he is admittedly no longer a working chef-a topic that he addresses head on in Medium Raw. Referring to conflicting opinions about Bourdain, TIME writes, “Bourdain isn’t famous because he knows so much about restaurant cooking (though he does) or because he’s always cool (he isn’t) or even because he hosts a popular show … Bourdain is famous because he is vivid and real and mercilessly honest at every second-in a sphere whose atmosphere consists of bombast, shilling, sanctimony and the unholy alliance between marketing communications and social networking.” How’s that for an endorsement of Bourdain’s latest memoir?

The Travel Channel isn’t the only network featuring Anthony Bourdain these days-but don’t expect to see him on the Food Network anytime soon (he hasn’t made his hatred for the network a secret). In addition to the Emmy Award-winning show No Reservations, Bourdain can be seen on Bravo’s Top Chef and has a Top Chef blog on Bravotv.com. After making an appearance during the seventh season of Top Chef, Bourdain joined the 2010 Primetime Emmy Award-winning show in its eight season as a member of the Judges Table.

Top Chef’s Fabio Viviani butted heads with Bourdain on an early episode of the current All-Stars season of the Bravo show, but in an interview with CultureMap Houston, the Top Chef favorite said Bourdain wasn’t the harshest judge to appear on the show! “He’s just trying to be the funniest judge. He just made a joke at the expense of the wrong guy. He knew I was going to call him out. He wouldn’t even look me in the eye at the judges’ table,” said Viviani, possibly portraying the cracks of a sore loser.
