Books On Tape?

No longer does a customer have to get dressed, get in the car, drive to the nearest bookstore, which may or may not have the book of choice, check out, get home, only to realize it's the wrong version, in a smaller print than can be read, or even the sixth book in a series of ten.

In this day and age of global warming, saving the whales, and being environmentally friendly in general, most people and companies are more conservative with just about everything than they used to be. One way big names, and little people, are saving time, money, and the environment is with mp3 books.

MP3 Books, also known as audio books and books on tape, are the young person’s idea of paperbacks. No longer does a customer have to get dressed, get in the car, drive to the nearest bookstore, which may or may not have the book of choice, check out, get home, only to realize it’s the wrong version, in a smaller print than can be read, or even the sixth book in a series of ten. At the click of a button, an avid reader can get Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, Rowling’s series Harry Potter, or even trashy romance novels to read on the way home from a hectic day at work. Children’s books, fiction, adventure, autobiography – if you can think of the category, even the book, there is most likely an audible version of it. On top of the myriad of choices of what to read, there are even more places to download the latest copy of Dan Brown. Barnes and Noble, Borders, Walmart, iTunes, audible.com, librivox.com, audiobooks.com, emusic.com – you there are literally thousands of sites that cater to mp3 books and audio downloads. What’s great about these sites tis that the book is automatically sent to wherever you want, whether it be to your iTunes library, your email account, or a download folder in order to burn to a CD.

One of the best places to start looking for mp3 books would be the local library. Aside from books on tape – the CD version, not the cassette tape version – located on shelves, most libraries have a website where you can download a digital copy of the book your looking for. However, remember to look if you have a certain time frame to finishing listening to the book, as most are about the same amount of time you would check out a paperback version for. Should the local library not have what your looking for, the next step would be using the keyword mp3 books in a popular search engine. The first page usually displays the best and most popular results.

Happy listening!
