Nashville has long been known as the city of music in the United States. This is partly due to the fact that Nashville is home to the Grand Ole Opera, The Country Music Hall of Fame, and famous record labels.

The history of music in Nashville began over two hundred years ago. After music became an intricate part of life in Nashville, Nashville has given back many well trained and talented musicians.

These studios boast of helping to produce some of the greatest hits in American history. Jimi Hendrix also performed in many Nashville clubs as he worked his way up to becoming a celebrity.

Nashville was the first city to be given a FM-broadcasting license and privileges in the United States. After this even in 1941, the city of music was the first to listen to static-free radio.

In a way Nashville has given inspiration to the entire world as the music and inspirational stories created there have spread worldwide. Nashville embodies musical history.

Nashville also offers concerts for a price and some are free. This is also a major attraction and part of why people like to travel to Nashville to experience true music.

Nashville’s name in music has made it the place to go if you are looking to make a break in the music industry. There is a lot of competition there and if you are able to make a name for yourself there, it means that as a musician you have a lot of quality.
As tourists walk down the streets of Nashville, the air is never silent. Music streams out of every club as they walk along.

When they find a club they like, they can slip in and decide to leave when they would like to select another performance.

Sometimes people travel to Nashville to simply catch a glimpse of celebrities and famous people. This is a common occurrence in the City of Music because so much recording takes place here.

Although, country is what Nashville is known for it is definitely not the only type of music that makes its home here. Heavy Americana, Bluegrass, and all of the other typical genres of music can be found here.

Nashville is also the home of a zoo, aquarium, amusement parks, paddle-wheel boats, and sites from Southern history. For example, tours of the Belle Meade Plantation and The Hermitage which was Andrew Jackson’s home are available for tourists to learn more about the history of America.

Tourists can also view the battlefield of the Civil War battle for Franklin and visit the cemetery of soldiers who fought there. This tour lends a feeling of great appreciation for what soldiers do for the average citizens.

Horseback riding and fishing are also very popular activities during the summer months. Nashville’s lush history simply cannot be missed by driving through.
This history gives so much to us. Even stopping for a few hours will renew our appreciation for good music and American history.
