Google has declare that on their ranking algorithm has made a major change last 24th of February 2011.

“We launched a pretty big algorithmic improvement to our ranking [...] This update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites?sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful.

At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high-quality sites?sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.”

This changes will affect many site which those are low quality sites. However for those sites that has a good content like sites which are content true research. Unlike other that are made by copying from other websites.

This change give big chance to excel the good and helpful websites. As usual those are made from copying will be downed and eleminate from ranking.

“We can’t make a major improvement without affecting rankings for many sites. It has to be that some sites will go up and some will go down. [...] It is important for high-quality sites to be rewarded, and that’s exactly what this change does.”

The reason why changes launched

It is obvious that the first one or twp pages of search results were often flooded with useless content stuffed with the right keywords and it has no informational contribution value for the reader. This new tehnique of ranking is meant to correct that. Google aims to promote high quality content and demote the useless piece. This is what stated obviously on thier official blog. Content copy from other webites is stated there too. But they don’t elaborate on that any any futher.

Due to this changes in algorithm it clearly affect many websites and content writers. Page rank of other websites have decreased or may be increased since the change implemented.

To conclude, recent algorithm changes clearly affect many websites and content writers. Page ranks of some websites have decreased or increased since the change. However, there are very few solid facts (if any) provided by Google’s employees. That being said, confusion and terror being experienced by many content writers is absolutely unnecessary. If you write high quality articles, the chances are you will not be affect that much. Otherwise, you need to put in some effort and improve your writing. Those who continue posting the crap anyway only deserve to sink to the bottom. So far it seems they do not really drag the good authors to the hell with them.
