Do you want to promote your new website and at the same time make it start to rank for your desired keywords? One thing that you can do is to begin an article marketing campaign. It is really an easy thing to accomplish and it just would require your time and effort.

So how does it work? In a nutshell what you need to do is to write an informative or interesting article and then submit it to the top article directories. But it is not that simple because for your article marketing to succeed, you will have to ensure that you have done your best with each component of your article. And that is what we will be discussing here.

Let us first discuss the need for keyword research. If you want your article to be found by many people then it has to be optimized for a specific keyword. Use a keyword research tool for this purpose and there are many of this kind out there but I recommend Market Samurai and also the free keyword tool by Google. Anyway, start by using your site’s main topic as your seed keyword and then expand your list through it. Just select two keywords to optimize your article.

Now that you have your keywords you will have to place them in the article. Choose a main keyword between your first two selections and then make sure that it is included in your article’s title. Then if your article is more than 400 words, you should place it at least twice within the body of the text. How about the other keyword? Just place it once anywhere in the body. Aside from this tip you should also make sure that your title is interesting or highly informative to attract people to read the rest of the article.

Then write your article as well as you can filling it with information that people would surely be interested in. This is important because if your reader easily gets bored reading it, he would not even bother looking into the author box where you will place a link back to your website. And that author or resource box is probably the most important part of your article. It introduces who you are and where your reader can go to learn more about you or the topic of your article.

So there you have it. This is a short but easy to understand way of doing basic article marketing. And one other tip. If you are not a good writer you can always hire someone to write your articles for you while you still get to keep the byline.
