Everyone has heard of blogs at some time or another, but did you know that less than 10 percent of the people marketing online use their blogs the correct way? When using blogs in a marketing campaign, the idea is to create traffic to your website.

The key to doing this is by having your content on your blog relevant to your website. Many people realize this, but they still manage to build their blogs incorrectly.

In this article we are going to tell you exactly how to create and load your blog with content that is relevant, but also how to use your blog to increase your website’s search engine rankings.

1.Creating A Blog Account

The first thing we want to do is create a brand new blog specifically for your promoting your home business. Even if you already have a blog, you want to create a new one that is not connected with anything else you are doing online.

Now there are several places online where you can create your blog for free. Again, this is no cost marketing that does work when you use it correctly. The place you want to go to create your new blog is to search for free blog set up.

The reason for this is that it is free to set up and it will be connected with Google. Talk about getting linked with Google, wow! This is the way.

2.Create your blog.

You will first need to create an account with the blogger. For our example we will be using “Blogger” to show you how to do this step by step, but keep in mind that they all pretty much work the same way.

To start off with, we will go to “Blogger”. When we get to “Blogger” you will see a big orange arrow that says “Create Your Blog Now”, click on it and then follow the steps to create your blog.

If have a “Google” account, please keep in mind that you can also create an account with Blogger once you are logged in, under your account will be the option to add “Blogger”.

Important: When creating your blog, you will have to create a name and title for your blog. When you do this, you will want to use one of the main keyword phrases you created for your crosslinking campaign.

For our example we will use:

Ways To Make Money At Home

This is very important when creating your blog, as this will build relevancy to our crosslinking campaign. Now that we have created our blog, we want to take the steps to set up our blog.

3.Setting Up Your Blog

Once you have created your blog, the first thing you will want to do is adjust the settings of your blog. On Blogger, you would do this by clicking on the “Settings” tab which is right on the main page when you first login.

The first section we need to adjust is your basic settings which will appear in the submenu under “Basic”. In this section you will see your “Title” which should already be filled in from when we first created the blog.

In the “Description” box will we want to write a short paragraph that will describe your blog. In this description you will want to keep it short and to the point and include one of your keyword phrases within this description.

These are the important first steps to starting a blog for your home business.
